Our Story

Introducing Iron Horse Taekwondo Academy, where excellence meets opportunity. Led by Master Chul Ho Kim, a two-time World Taekwondo Champion (1989,1991) and coach of the 2004 Athens Olympic USA Taekwondo Team, our academy offers unparalleled instruction. HANDS-ON GUIDANCE AND TEACHING

I am a 3rd-degree black belt, and it's hard to find a Master who can and will participate in teaching the kids. I usually see younger students take over most of the time and do Master's work, but not here in Iron Horse TKD. Master Kim is there all the time to show and guide students of all ages. Nowadays, it is tough to find a good quality Taekwondo school, and it's more of a business than teaching the kids discipline, confidence, self-control and politeness. I have two kids, 8 and 16, and wanted to find a Master that I could count on, and after four months of searching, I discovered Iron Horse TKD. This post is not about giving a good review, but for parents who are serious about sending their kids or even taking the class on their own to let them know that I have searched, and Iron Horse TKD is my top and only pick.

Master Kim is an amazing instructor! He prides himself on discipline, self-respect, and healthy instruction for his students. Our son competes nationally with Team One and it's been wonderful. He treats the students and parents like family. We are so pleased with our son's progression in his sport and value the lessons he is learning.

Iron Horse Taekwondo is the best place to practice Taekwondo in Colorado Springs. With an experienced Master who has coached at the Olympic level, you will get the best level of training in a fun atmosphere. Since joining Iron Horse Taekwondo Academy, my children have become physically fit, learned self-defense, and most importantly, gained confidence in themselves. My daughter is part of the Olympic sparring team and within 6 years she was winning medals at state and competing at the National level. The best part of Iron Horse Taekwondo is that Master Kim cares about each of his students and the atmosphere is more like family vs. just a place to practice martial arts. I would highly recommend Iron Horse Taekwondo to anyone looking for the premier Taekwondo studio in Colorado Springs.
